Section Committees

Section Committees has four areas of responsibility:

  1. Plan and conduct sessions equal to two and one-half hours for the Winter Seminar in February.
  2. Plan and conduct a continuing legal educational session equal to one-hour of CLE credit for the Legal Education Conference in June.
  3. Encourage submission of topics for The NAPPA Report.
  4. Serve as a resource for the NAPPA membership throughout the year.

The Winter Seminar section meetings are intended to allow coverage of issues in depth and offer networking opportunities for members with similar interests or responsibilities.  The Committees may bring experts from outside NAPPA and make specialized resources available.

With regard to the Legal Education Conference, each Section Committee will arrange the speakers and organize the presentation, discussion, and panel for one session relevant to NAPPA’s membership.  The Conference session must be designed to provide CLE credits for participants, and may include sample policies, contracts, and other resources.

The primary task of each Section Committee Chair (or Co-Chairs) is to periodically convene its members to carry out the Committee's responsibilities.

Forums

Forums are groups that are of interest to a subset of NAPPA members.  Forums may be asked, but are not expected, to deliver programming at the Winter Seminar or the Legal Education Conference. The Forum will be led by a Convenor (or Co-Convenors), who will serve as a focal point for communications among the members of the group.
